and detailed? I aquired the 63 comet and there is no brake assemble at all to go by. I have checked auto manuals and the info is not detailed enough. Funds are limited and I do not want to take it to a mechanic. I need a parts break down and diagram to show me what I need and how to install it. Is there anyone out there that can help?

Try your local library or a local auto wrecking yard. I have had good luck with both. Otherwise, if you are near a military base, they usually have a do it yourself auto repair shop that the troops can use, they might have an older manual that you could at least look at, maybe trace any drawings in the book. This car would have drum brakes front and back. If you cannot find a manual for this year, perhaps another Ford product of similar size and vintage would help. Also, if all else fails, you can take photos as you dismantle the existing brakes, starting with the from which are much more critical to stopping the vehicle. Almost forgot, an auto parts dealer that has been in business for any number of years and does some to a lot of shop work might be helpful since you would be buying your parts there. (You should ask for a discount off the retail price - I always do)
Any good auto repair manual would give you at least general instructionns on brake shoe replacement.
Lastly, if you need a great deal of instruction on the processes involved in brake maintenance, it might be safer for yourself and other driver for you to have the work done by either a professional shop or someone (friend, buddy, etc) that has more experience as you want your brakes to stop the car at least 100% of the time at a minimum.
