I heard that a Mariner Hybrid is the best for the money, is this true?

I like the look of it, it has four doors and somewhat of a rear payload.
What's the oldest model that I can buy, as I doubt I'll be able to afford new?
Is that year model any good?
I also want some actual owner's opinions before I buy one.
Do you love or hate your Mariner Hybrid?
Would you give it up?
