points (+1 for a thumbs up)! Hi, my friend is having a problem with her car. She has a 2006 Mercury Milan. It's the fully loaded version if that makes a difference as far as security systems goes... Anyway, something happened - she tried to start her car, but it wouldn't let her. She said there's a light flashing and she looked it up in the manual and it means that there's something wrong with the Anti security device and that the only way to fix it is to take it to the dealer. She's having it towed, but she was wondering if anyone here knew what was wrong. The dealer said that they didn't know (she called them) and the service department isn't open until tomorrow. She hasn't had any problems with it, other than this. I guess she went to start it, it wouldn't start, she noticed that this little light was flashing, and then looked it up and found out what it means. Does anyone have any idea what this is, and/or how it will be fixed? Thanks SOOOO MUCH! I'll give the first helpful answer a total of 11 points!

Hi I wish there was an easy answer for you and your friend .. By pushing the buttons on your clicker in a certain pattern. this can change the program of the alarm system. Often done by accident. ( We have people call their children were playing with the clicker .). Its a matter of hit and miss or luck , but it can happen .. The car is new there should be a owners manual or book on the alarm.. If so see if you can reset the alarm .. And then follow instructions from there, and reprogram it as per instructions ..Or put it in valet mode .. It sounds like the starter over ride is engaged .. good luck ..
