2005 Mercury Montego Steering Noise.?

I have a 2005 Mercury Montego and when I'm going about 10MPH or slower when I turn the steering wheel I hear a popping/grinding noise.

The car only has 27,000 miles on it I'm just now beginning to hear this noise.

I appreciate all the help.
The car is Front Wheel Drive.

1 got fluid?
2 belt tight [not too tight]
3 wheels bolted tight [dont ask lol]
4 check wheel bearings....CV joints

Sounds as if there is a bad bushing one of the control arms. Steering components are under considerable stress when turning the wheels at very slow speed or at a stop.

Easy repair for most mechanics.
